Jury rules in favor of doctors in negligence case

A jury has exonerated two physicians, Dr. Peter Knabe and Dr. Stephen Justice, in a medical negligence and wrongful death case related to the passing of Bobby Jackson in 2017, as reported by local media.

Dr. Knabe, a radiologist with Lima Radiological Associates, was accused of negligence in interpreting a CT scan performed on Jackson in 2015. Dr. Justice, a family medicine physician with Wilson Health, was charged with negligence for failing to schedule a follow-up CT scan appointment for Jackson.

After careful consideration, the jury found that neither Dr. Knabe nor Dr. Justice was negligent in Jackson’s care. The jury also dismissed a “loss of consortium” claim, which refers to the loss of familial relationships due to injury or death, in this instance, the loss of Jackson as a husband, father, and grandfather.
